Role

This role is ideal for an experienced Computational Designer or Software Programmer looking to progress their career in a highly innovative field. Your primary role will be to help us develop tools for the AEC industry, including our flagship product MetricMonkey.

The successful candidate will have extensive expertise in computational design and be agile enough to apply this knowledge from the city scale (GIS) to the component scale (digital fabrication). You will be proficient in using C# and Python and have experience building front-end user interfaces. You will have a strong design sensibility and be able to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely.

Full-time, Part-time, or Contract.

Location

We are currently working from home but when our Chippendale (Sydney) office re-opens, you’ll have the ability to work in the office or remotely. As such, Sydney based candidates are preferred. However, we will consider remote candidates, including in Brisbane and Melbourne.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver high-quality software applications, including MetricMonkey;
• Utilise computational design to support and improve project solutions;
• Support our existing client base and their teams; and
• Engaged with the AEC community through industry conferences and presentations.

Required skills:

• 5+ years of professional experience working in the AEC industry utilising computational design and BIM;
• Tertiary education in Architecture or Software Development;
• 3+ years of desktop software development experience using C#, WPF, XAML, IronPython and the .NET framework;
• Proficiency in McNeel Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Autodesk Revit, and Dynamo;
  Strong knowledge of RhinoCommon, Grasshopper SDK and the Revit API;
• Knowledge of agile development;
• Working ability with Git;
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to apply geometric, mathematical and computer science concepts to solve building design problems;
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build key relationships with a range of stakeholders; and
• Self-motivated, proactive and able to self-manage.

Complementary skills:

• Experience with GIS and spatial databases (PostGIS / QGIS);
• Experience with WebGIS (Mapbox); and
• Experience with UI/UX design (Adobe XD).
