This role is for an intermediate software developer to lead the development of our flagship product, MetricMonkey. MetricMonkey enables architects and urban designers to design better buildings through advanced digital design techniques. The successful candidate will have experience in both the front-end and back-end (desktop) software development and will be proficient in C#, WPF and XAML. Skills in mathematics and 3D geometry preferred. This position is ideal for someone adaptable, flexible, and willing to challenge the status quo.

Hybrid. We are currently working from home, but when our Chippendale (Sydney) office reopens, you’ll have the ability to work in the office or remotely. As such, Sydney based candidates are preferred. However, we will consider remote Australian candidates, including Brisbane and Melbourne.



  • Develop and deliver high-quality software applications, including MetricMonkey and project-based projects;
  • Design and implement efficient, reusable, and reliable code .NET environment using C# and .NET.
  • Leading agile ceremonies;
  • Participate in user testing; and
  • Mentor computational designers to up-skill through guidance, advice and knowledge sharing.


Required skills:

  • 1-2 years of desktop software development experience using C#, WPF, XAML, IronPython and the .NET framework;
  • Tertiary education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Design, Software Engineering, or a related field;
  • Experience with UI/UX design (Adobe XD);
  • Strong organisational and project management skills (Agile);
  • Working ability with Git;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; and
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to self-manage.


Complementary skills:

  • Experience working in the AEC industry utilising computational design and BIM;
  • Knowledge in cloud-based computing and databases (AWS / Postgres / PostGIS);
  • Experience in modern Javascript frameworks (Vue.Js / React / Angular);
  • Experience with WebGIS (Mapbox);
  • Knowledge of RhinoCommon, Grasshopper SDK and the Revit API; and
  • Familiarity with McNeel Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Autodesk Revit, and Dynamo.
